Examples of Types of Violations Brought Before the Board for Disciplinary Action Are:
- Alcohol or drug use
- Conviction of a felony/crime of moral turpitude
- Disciplined by military/another state
- Disciplined by peers
- Failure to comply with a request for information/subpoena
- Failure to obtain/document CME (continuing medical education)
- Failure to properly supervise/delegate
- Falling below the standard of care in the treatment or lack thereof toward patients
- Writing false prescriptions
- Providing false statements to the Board
- Inappropriate relations with patients
- Insufficient medical/drug records
- Mental or physical impairment
- Patient abandonment/failure to communicate with patient
- Practice inconsistent with public health and welfare
- Knowingly prescribing or dispensing drugs to a drug abuser
- Prescribing non-therapeutically to patients and/or family members and failing to document those prescriptions
- Unprofessional conduct
- Violating a State or federal law in their practice
- Violation of a Board Order
